When the NEA called me after V.P. Joe Biden announced Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate and asked that we finish editing the interview recorded last year, I was excited!
A Different Tomorrow
Nu Era Productions was privileged with the opportunity to work with the National Education Association (NEA) in creating many of the visuals for their 2018 convention, Representative Assembly (RA), in Minneapolis, MN. They asked us to create the opening video and several other overhead hallway and doorway videos and animations. We also edited a few profile videos for the awards show. It was a very busy few months but we got it done with great results.
The opening video, titled "A Different Tomorrow" features the voice over (VO) of actor, rapper and activist Common. I had the opportunity to direct Common's VO session (he needed very little direction) and edit the audio and video master.
We had to conform and output our videos with multiple specs to playback on different screens and aspect ratios. The largest was the main LED widescreen playing back 6K resolution with a 3:1 aspect ratio.
NEA wanted to open the RA with a video that would be inspiring for educators.
Examples of a couple loops the NEA wanted to play on the larger LED screen. We used cinematic stock footage, added some lens flare effects and color correction to achieve the look they wanted and finished it with an animated logo.
Exciting New Work
I know I haven't posted here since the company start but I'm really excited about the new work I'm doing for the NEA. They love what I've showed them so far and I can't wait to share it. Here is a sneak peak of the timeline. I'm cutting this project in FCPX. Stay tuned to see how it turns and see which celebrity is involved with the project.
